End of an Era

Donovan McNabb is now a Redskin. I'm still in shock. I'll write more later when my brain starts working again, but in the meantime, thanks to a player who defines "class" for 10 years of thrilling football.

McNabb is only a Redskin on loan. I hope he can have a couple great years for us, but in the end he will retire an Eagle, of course. For now, I hope I will be saying 'thank you' at the end of the season...

If the Redskins don't do something to shore up the O-line, I fear we'll be sending McNabb back to Philly in pieces.

I have great respect for Donovan McNabb and his tremendous accomplishments, but I think this was a terrible trade for the Redskins. I will hope for the best, but I fear that this is just another example of a team overpaying for a aging vet whose best days are behind him. Every GM in the league salivates like Pavlov's dog when they learn the Redskins are on the other end of the phone.

@Keith - true, and in the grand Redskins tradition, I'm sure that when he & his agent negotiate his contract extension, my boy will be GETTIN' PAID (not that he hasn't already) and I know almost no one gets to play a full career anywhere now, but it still makes me sad...

@Eric - more on this topic to come, but you are SOOOO right about the O-line situation.
